The Nordic PhD Summit “Health Sciences Across Borders” brings PhD students from the Nordics together for two days of interaction and scientific discussions – focusing on Nordic research strengths and how to get the most out of your PhD. The meeting is open to all interested – PhD students, postdocs and faculty!

 

This interdisciplinary meeting will place your research in a larger perspective, provide ideas for your future career, broaden your network, and with a focus on publishing, innovation and scientific outreach, equip you with tools for disseminating science in today’s world.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTS:

  • Plenary sessions with prominent invited speakers on:

    • Strengths in Nordic research across borders

    • Innovation and entrepreneurial collaboration

    • Publishing and disseminating science in today’s world

    • Excellence in Health Research

  • Interactive thematic scientific break-out sessions (6 themes, please see program) with forward looking discussions regarding your research field – including short talks by PhD students, selected from abstracts

  • Career options speed dating & company mingle
    The career speed networking session will demonstrate the varied careers paths that are available to Nordic PhD students once they have completed their training programs. This 1 hour session will introduce different professions, ranging from biotech and science communication, to academia and pharma and provide participants with the opportunity to become more aware of and better informed about career options available within the Nordic counties, as well as to better understand the skills and steps required to move into various exciting career paths.

  • Peer-mentoring circles

  • Poster sessions

  • Possibility to participate in the meeting as a course (1 ECTS) – includes extra tasks & examination

  • Dinner reception, pub & party for continued interaction and networking
